Girl Student Shows India to Respect its National Emblem

It is to mention that, a class tenth student of Chandigarh based Sacred Heart Convent Senior Secondary School, Deepshikha Singh filed Public interest petition in Punjab and Haryana High Court after reading English daily news report which showed labourer placing his feet on wheat bags carrying the national emblem in Punjab Mandis.
The Bench comprising Chief Justice, Justice Mukul Mudgal and Justice Jasbir Singh had given patient hearing to 15 year girl student argument before issuing notices to four respondents out of 36 prayed by her stating jurisdiction question, as petitioner had asked to issue notices of all 35 states and UTs of India, including union government.
The unique feature about the case was that, a 15 year girl student herself pledged her case in High court and prayed to court that, Government authorities and functionaries should be stop to use National emblem on the number plates of their vehicles, which amount to disrespect to national emblem, as poor laborer shown to this unknowly.
Deepshikha Singh, further argued the court to order education authorities to make National emblem protocols as essential part of national educational curriculum so that students like her can learn the do and don’t while dealing with national emblem.
