Mexico vs Uruguay, South Africa vs France match analysis, result, Round of 16 schedules


MEXICO VS URUGUAY, the first game of the day in Group A at FIFA World Cup 2010, held at Royal Bafokeng Stadium in Rustenberg, both Mexico and Uruguay moved in next round. However, in the match between Mexico vs Uruguay, latter emerged as the winner with a final score of 1-0 and in an another Group A match between South Africa vs France, Bafana Bafana won by 2-1 but that was not enough for SA to make their place in the round of 16.

Mexico tied with South Africa at 1-1 in the inauguration match held on June 11 at Soccer City in Rustenberg. In its second match, Mexico managed to defeat France by 2-0 in their game held on June 17 at Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane. Uruguay, tied with France in their first match in this World Cup 2010 on June 11 and in its second match, Uruguay managed to beat South Africa by 3-0 on June 16 at Loftus Versfeld at Pretoria.

In today's match between, Mexico vs Uruguay striker Luis Suarez scored the only goal for his country in the 42nd minute of the play when Edinson Cavani's superbly floated cross allowed the Ajax striker to head in at the back post. The action continued in the second half of the game with Uruguay still on top of it. However, nobody made another successful goal from both Mexico and Uruguay until the final whistle was heard in the 93rd minute to mark the end of the match.

In the match between South Africa and France, World Cup 2006 runner-up France did not reach even the round of 16. South Africa won by 2-1 at the Free State Stadium in Bloemfontein. Khumalo and Mphela scored for South Africa whereas Malouda scored only goal for France in the 70th minute of the game. South Africa took an early lead against France during the 20th minute of the match and in the 37th minute of the game, Mphela scored second goal for his country.

On June 26, at Port Elizabeth, Uruguay will play against the second team of Group B, whereas Mexico will play against the top team of Group B on June 27 at Johannesburg in their Round of 16 match in FIFA World Cup 2010.
