Toyota today launched its first nationwide free health check up for chauffeurs. The activity will be carried out in all Toyota dealerships across the nation throughoutthe month of June 2010. The chauffeurs will also be trained on traffic safety to reinforce adherence to traffic rules and sensitizing them towards safe driving. The chauffeurs, who come for vehicle service, will be given a free health check up followed by a brief training session on traffic safety. A complimentary school kit with basic stationary will also be distributed to the participants.
Sandeep Singh, DMD - Marketing, Toyota Kirloskar Motor, said “Toyota’s corporate culture puts the “customer first”. A good number of Toyota vehicles are driven by chauffeurs. They are the direct users and care takers of our vehicles and therefore are an integral part of the Toyota family. They are very important to us. We have initiated this nation wide activity under the theme “Health, Safety and Education” for the benefit of all chauffeurs driving Toyota vehicles. With traffic increasing rapidly, the accident rates have been mounting at an alarming rate. Healthy and well informed drivers will ensure safe driving and therefore safer roads for the society at large.”
TKM is a joint venture between Toyota Motor Corporation and the Kirloskar Group. TKM has invested nearly Rs. 1,500 crores in its plant at Bidadi, employing around 3700 people. The plant started production in December 1999 and has a capacity of producing 80,000 units annually.
Currently TKM has 99 state of the art facilities in India providing sales, service & service parts to all its customers.
