Cedric Benson Cincinnati Bengals RB arrested for hitting bar employee

CEDRIC BENSON, 28, of Cincinnati Bengals was arrested in Texas on Tuesday for allegedly punching a bar employee in the face nearly a month ago. He was charged with misdemeanor assault.

Authorities said that Benson was booked into the Travis County jail and later released after he posted bail.

On May 30 Benson punched the bar employee of Annie's West bar in the Sixth Street entertainment district where he got into a quarrel with another fan and injured his lip. After staff intervened Benson pushed a bar worker and abused the bar employee.

Benson came out of bar saying that "all these white boys are ganging up on me and kicking me out," then he punched the bar employee named Bryan White.
Attorney of Benson said in a statement that his client looks forward to telling his side of the story at the appropriate time.

He further added that he does not entirely agree with the version of facts recited in the court filings," and "he does not wish to make his comments public at this time."
It is not the first time Benson has been arrested, in 2008; he was arrested twice in a month on alcohol charges. First time in on May 3, 2008 he was arrested for allegedly operating a boat while intoxicated and resisting arrest.

He was later detained for the night, and released in the morning after paying bail of $14,000 dollars for boating while intoxicated and an additional $4,500 charge for resisting arrest.

Again on June 7, 2008 he was arrested for driving while intoxicated in Austin. Benson was later ordered by a county judge to put a built-in ignition interlock breathalyzer in his car.

Benson signed a one-year, $520,000 contract with the Cincinnati Bengals on September 30, 2008. A free agent after the 2008 season, Benson visited with the Houston Texans before signing a two-year, $7 million contract with the Bengals on March 3, 2009.
