Eldora Speedway tonight - teams, drivers and other details


ON WEDNESDAY June 9, top motorsports drivers are gathering together for one night of racing to raise money for charity at the Eldora Speedway near Cincinnati, Ohio. NASCAR, Indy Car, drag racing, and motorcycle drivers among others will be participating in the Gillette Prelude to the Dream. This year’s charity benefits four of the nation’s leading charity hospitals, including Cincinnati Children’s.

Eldora Speedway was bought by NASCAR driver Tony Stewart in late 2004 from Earl Baltes, who built the speedway from the ground up in 1954.

This year twenty-five drivers will compete in four teams, each racing for a different children's hospital. The teams are Cincinnati Children's Hospital, Team Levine Hospital for Children, Team Riley Hospital for Children and Team St. Jude Childebert Research Hospital.

Bill Elliott, Kasey Kahne, Bobby Labonte, Joey Logano, Cruz Pedregon and Tony Stewart are the members of Cincinnati Children's Hospital, while Marcos Ambrose, Dave Blaney, Kyle Busch, Jimmie Johnson, Matt Kenseth and David Reutimann are in the Team Levine Hospital for Children.

In Team Riley Hospital for Children, AJ Allmendinger, Clint Bowyer, Ron Capps, Jeff Gordon, Ryan Newman, Brian Vickers and Kenny Wallace are there. Aric Almirola, Ricky Carmichael, Carl Edwards, Ray Evernham, Robby Gordon, Denny Hamlin and Ken Schrader are in the team of St. Jude Childebert Research Hospital.

The winning team at the Eldora Speedway tonight will receive 45% of the revenue generated by television in this race, whereas, the second ranked team will receive 25% of the same recipe. The third and fourth placed teams will have about 15% each of them the recipe television.
