Emmy Nominations 2010: Pacific, Glee leading, all nominations


The 62nd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards were announced this morning at the Leonard H. Goldenson Theatre in North Hollywood, California. "Community" star Joel McHale and Sofía Vergara were chosen as hosts  to announce the major nominations. Actress Sofía Vergara herself was one of the 2010 Emmy nominee for "Modern Family."  The nominations were announced in a live observance of people and the ceremony started with warming vocal cords as there was ample of singing about to happen.

 

‘‘The Pacific' overtook the 2010 Emmy nominations with 24 nominations. The adorable team of The FOX "Glee" had lot to celebrate as they received 19 Emmy Award nominations following their first season, coming in second after the HBO mini-series "The Pacific”. AMC's "Mad Men” hit the third place with 17 nominations. Other shows which led the Emmy race included "Modern Family," "30 Rock," "Lost," and "The Good Wife.

 

Betty White(Glee) is the only person who continued her incredible career  with a nod for the best Guest Actress in a Comedy Series as host of 'Saturday Night Live,' this was her 20th Emmy nomination.

 

Usually, the Emmy Awards are held in the core of September. The Peacock network says the decision to schedule the awards show for Aug. 29, was made early to get a head start on planning. NBC will telecast NFL games on Sunday nights in September. Hence, scheduling the Emmys during late August will avoid a conflict.

Jon Hamm (Mad Men), Kyle Chandler (Friday Night Lights), Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad), Hugh Laurie (House M.D.), Michael C. Hall (Dexter), Matthew Fox (Lost).


COMEDY:

Glee, Modern Family, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Nurse Jackie, 30 Rock, The Office, Curb Your Enthusiasm.

 

Best ACTRESS IN A COMEDY:

Lea Michele (Glee), Tina Fey (30 Rock), Toni Collette (The United States of Tara), Julia Louis-Dreyfus (The New Adventures of Old Christine), Edie Falco (Nurse Jackie), Amy Poehler (Parks and Recreation)

 

Best ACTOR IN A COMEDY

Larry David (Curb Your Enthusiasm), Alec Baldwin (30 Rock), Matthew Morrison (Glee), Steve Carell (The Office),  Jim Parsons (The Big Bang Theory),  Tony Shalhoub (Monk).


REALITY SHOW HOST: Ryan Seacrest (American Idol), Phil Keoghan (The Amazing Race), Tom Bergeron (Dancing with the Stars), Heidi Klum (Project Runway), Jeff Probst (Survivor).
