A TECH site reports that Apple’s traditional iPod-focused media event which used to take place during the first week of September may be shifted by a week to mid-September this year. The possible dates could be either 14th or 15th September as traditionally Apple holds its events on either Tuesday or Wednesday.
Earlier there were rumours of the event being held somewhere in mid-August but that seems to be a fake one. Already the mid-August has arrived but there is no trace of either an invitation or the event itself.
Expectations of new iPod Touch and iPod Nano
If rumours are to be believed and the sources are to be trusted there are strong hints of a new refurbished iPod Touch as well as a new line of iPod Nano in the offing. Several iPod Touch part leaks have surfaced in last few months which are fuelling the rumours.
The new iPod Touch is touted to get the revolutionary ‘Retina Display’ which is present on the iPhone 4. The retina display has four times the resolution of the last iPod Touch and iPhone models and pixels are so fine that human retina can’t differentiate two pixels. It, as claimed by Apple, gives a feel of reading a nicely printed book.
Another feature that the iPod Touch may get is the front facing camera along with a better one at the back. FaceTime, Apple’s open source video calling technique, may come on the iPod Touch. This rumour is doing rounds from the moment when Steve Jobs said that there will be “tens of millions of FaceTime” devices by the end of the year.
What about that tiny touchscreen device?
There are speculation that Apple may as well introduce a new small screen device which appeared a few months ago on the web. It was a tiny touchscreen device which seemed to be wearable.
Cloud based iTunes streaming?
Apple may announce the current status of the cloud-based music streaming via iTunes. Recently there were rumours that the company will roll back its plans on the cloud based streaming due to some technical reasons.
Whatever be the rumours, Apple is known to surprise the world and generally it does it pleasantly. So let’s keep our fingers crossed and expect some great announcements.
