IN THE first Cricket Test match between England and Pakistan at Trent Bridge, Nottingham in England, on fourth day, visitors need 420 more runs with seven wickets in hand to take lead against the hosts in the series. At the stumps on day 3, Pakistani team was at 15 runs for the loss of 3 wickets. Opener Imran Farhat was playing on 6 and Mohammad Aamer was yet to open his account on day 4 at Trent Bridge. On the third evening at Trent Bridge visitors lost their three wickets just in a span of 6 balls for 1 run- Captain Salman Butt out for 8, Azhar Ali without scoring any run and Umar Amin on 1. English fast bowlers Stuart Broad and James Anderson shared 2 and 1 wicket respectively. Earlier on day 3, Pakistan started their innings from 147 for 9. Mohammad Asif the last man out for Pakistan on 182 runs. Umar Gul scored his highest Test Cricket score and was not out for 65 runs. James Anderson picked 5 Pakistani wickets whereas Steven Finn clinched 3 and Stuart Broad 1. England lost their Captain Andrew Strauss' wicket at the start of their second inning without any score. At the lunch English team was on 49 runs for 2 wickets. In the next session at Trent Bridge hosts scored 71 more runs but lost 4 more wickets. English wicketkeeper batsman Matt Prior completed his 3rd Test Cricket 100 before Captain Andrew Strauss declared their inning for 262 runs. Prior completed his 100 in 136 balls with 7 fours and 2 sixes.
