Fake kabaddi team barred at Wagah border by FIA


PAKISTANI AUTHORITIES have stopped  a fake kabaddi team at Wagah border planning to tour India without having No-Objection Certificate (NOC) from Ministry of Sports.

According to reliable sources in Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) and Pakistan Kabaddi Federation Indian High Commission was informed about the proposed visit of fake kabaddi team although they had issued visas to them.

“Indian High Commission had also sought information through letter to Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) about the status of legal kabaddi federation of Pakistan and MOFA had updated Indian High Commission with the help of Ministry of Sports,” sources said.

“Fake kabaddi team from Lahore was stopped by human trafficking cell of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA),” sources disclosed.

Sources also said that fake kabaddi team of Pakistan composed of 20 members reached Wagah border for tour India but when Pakistani authorities demanded No-Objection Certificate from the team, they failed to provide NOC to borders authorities and as a result they were barred to travel to India.

An unknown organisation claming to be the  kabaddi Federation of India had invited their counterparts in Pakistan for the series of 15 matches which was schedule in this month. The series has now been called off. 


Pakistan Kabaddi Federation (PKF) which is headed by Senator Ch Shujat with the secretary Muhammad Sarwar was declared legal and authorised kabaddi Federation of Pakistan by Ministry of Sports. It has an authority to send Pakistani team aboard for the participation in the international events.
