Team India announced for Australia Test Series


BCCI HAS announced 15-member squad for the two test match series against Australia, which is going to start from October 1 in Mohali. BCCI Chief Selector, K Srikanth announced the team this afternoon in Mumbai.

Struggling for fitness and form, Yuvraj Singh was not picked in the team. Saurashtra batsman Cheteshwar Pujara was picked in place of Yuvraj Singh. He has scored three triple centuries in domestic and other first-class matches.

Opener Gautam Gambhir, fast bowler Zaheer Khan, Sreesnath and Harbhajan Singh made comebacks from injury.

The Australian team landed in India today under the leadership of Ricky Ponting to play two test matches and three one day international in a month long series. First test will be played in Mohali from October 1-5 and the second test at Bangalore from October 9-13 followed by one-day Internationals in Kochi, October 17, Visakhapatnam, October 20 and Goa, October 24.

Indian squad for the two test match series against Australia include MS Dhoni (capt. & wk), Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir, Rahul Dravid, Sachin Tendulkar, VVS Laxman, Suresh Raina, Cheteshwar Pujara, M Vijay, Harbhajan Singh, Zaheer Khan, Ishant Sharma, Pragyan Ojha, Sreesanth and Amit Mishra.
