MORE THAN two lakh aspirants have registered themselves for the online Common Admission Test (CAT) 2010, which will be commencing from today, October 27 and continue till November 24. Online CAT 2010 is being conducted in 33 cities over 78 examination centers across the country. IIM Kolkata and IIM Lucknow are organising the online test for the 2011 intake. Common Admission Test is conducted by the elite Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) for admission to 2-year full time Post Graduate Programs in Management. About 150 premier Business Schools in the country apart from IIM accept CAT scores for admission to their respective management programs every year. There will be about 60 questions to be solved within the duration of the CAT examination of two hours and 30 minutes including the initial 15 minute tutorial. The test will be conducted in two sessions every day. The first session will start at 10 am and the second session at 3:30 pm. Candidates will have to report 1:30 hours before the schedule time of the test. Around 2.06 lakh management aspirants will appear this year to fulfill their IIM dream. About 30,000 candidates in Maharashtra, 27,000 in Uttar Pradesh and 20,000 in Delhi have registered themselves for Online CAT 2010. The results of the Common Admission Test 2010 will be declared on January 12.
