AT THE request of national leaders like Prakash Karat, AB Bardan, Ajit Singh and some others senior leaders, the Telugu Desam supremo Chandra Babu Naidu ended his eight-day fast on Friday evening.
Owing to the deterioration of health the doctors forcibly administered the fluids at the orders of High Court on Thursday evening, shifting him from common ward to the ICU.
Despite deteriorating health, Chandra Babu had declined to withdraw the fast. On Friday morning the doctors’ team which came to observe him at periodical intervals warned him that it would be very difficult if solids will not go into the stomach.
His kith and kin and top party brass’ requests also did not yield any result. Later the top brass of TDP contacted the Left leaders and other opposition party leaders and they reached the NIMS by evening of Friday. They talked with the TDP supreme and finally got the nod. After obliging the request of leaders they gave lemon juice to Babu which ended the fast.
Leaders of various parties including Om Prakash Choutala, representatives of Devagowda and others met Chandrababu and extended their support to farmers struggle. The TDP is planning to hold a farmers rally in Guntur within a short period.
