AGVBOF meet held at Guwahati


THE FIRST annual general conference of Assam Gramin Vikash Bank Officers Federation (AGVBOF) was held at Guwahati on December 25, at city hotel in Guwahati. The conference began with the delegate registration and meeting followed by discussions on various issues of the bank. The open session was inaugurated by S N Sahu, chairman of Assam Gramin Vikash Bank (AGVB), A K Bhattacharjee, General Manager of AGVB, M A Sattar, secretary of AIBOC Assam State Unit, C K Taran, Gen Secretary of Tripura Gramin Vikash Bank Officers Association were the distinguished guest in the conference. The open session was presided over by Prasanta Kumar Buzarbaruah, president of AGVBOF.

Inaugurating the open session, the chairman of the AGVB said that due to collective effort of all officers and staff of the bank and cooperation with the management, the bank has been able to cross the business level of Rs 5000 crore as on march 31, this year. Achyut Chandra Chakraborty, the general secretary of the AGVBOF has appealed all the officers of the bank to be united and be free from fear psychosis from policy makers of the bank by thinking each and everyone as a responsible member of the AGVB so that the interest of the bank can be safeguarded.


The AGVBOF came into existence officially from May this year. Assam Gramin Vikash Bank was formally launched on January 16, 2006. It is an amalgamation of Pragjyotish Gaonlia Bank, Lakhimi Gaonlia Bank, Cachar Gramin Bank and Subansiri Gaonlia Bank.
