Opposition in Orissa organises Jana Jagarana Yatra


THE DISTRICT congress committee launched Jana Jagarana and Krusuka Banchao pada yatra from February 10 from Saheed Smruti stambha and on February 17 the team will reach Hirli near Nabarangpur town in Orissa.


On February 10, a meeting was held at the Papadahandi, which was presided by DCC President Narayan Patro. OPCC working president Chandra Sekhar Sahu, MLA, Dabugam, Bhujabala Majhi, Former MLAs, Bhalu Bainipati, and Sadan Nayak, DCC President, Koraput Meenakshi Bahinipati, DCC, President Malkangiri, Govinda Patro, Nabarangpur, Zilla Parisad President, Bhagirathi Nayak, District Youth Congress President, Bhima Harijan, District, Students congress, President, Sanjaya Nayak, Women congress leaders, Nagratnam, Kamala Barala, along with Somnath Bissoy, spoke on the occasion.

 

Sahu slammed the BJD government on the dal, mines, coal, land scams that failed to provide proper compensation to the farmers in the recent crop losses and demanded the resignation of the CM. Naveen Patnaik.


The massive pada yatra would be a reply of the Congress to the anti-Centre campaign launched by the BJD all over the district and state, said MP and Youth congress, President Pradeep Majhi. He further alleged that the BJD government has been involved in several scams. The main aim of the pada yatra being organised by the Congress party is to highlight popular programmes of UPA government at the village level and also to expose the all-round failure of the BJD government.


Among others District Youth Congress President, Bhima Harijan, District, Students congress, President, Sanjaya Nayak, Women congress leaders, Nagratnam, Kamala Barala, along with thousands of congress wokers were present at the meeting. Later a pada yatra headed by the MP and OPYC, president, Pradeep Majhi, DCC, President, Narayan Patro, marched to Tandaguda, Sorisapadar, Sirsi, Mokia, Dengaguda, Boxguda, Kodinga, Dongriguda, Kosagumuda, organising meetings at the villages the pada yatra will reach at Hirli, near Nabarangpur town on February 17.
