NEW MOVIES basing some old classical hits could help in shaping the minds of the youth for the better, while being declared a ‘hit’ for the producers.
The story line of an old hit movie titled, “Dil Ek Mandir” (Heart is a temple) produced under Gemini Productions with three lead actors of yesteryear, Rajendra Kumar, Raj Kumar and Meena Kumari, can help in reshaping the minds of the youth for the better.
For those who have not seen this movie, this movie begins with Raj Kumar unveiling the statue of Rajendra Kumar as a memorium in front of a newly built hospital dedicated to his cause.
The story goes like this: Rajendra Kumar and Meena Kumar, both were lovers before marriage but social circumstances did not allow them to get married and eventually they get separated. Rajendra Kumar becomes a doctor and pursues his career as a “cancer specialist”.
Meena Kumari gets married to Raj Kumar. As fate would have it, Raj Kumar contracts the dreaded disease cancer – in those days contracting cancer meant life’s days were numbered.
The story takes an interesting turn when unknowingly, Meena Kumari and Raj Kumar decide to solicit the services of Doctor Rajendra Kumar. Raj Kumar does not know the pre-marital secret of affairs between Rajendra Kumar and Meena Kumari.
As a devoted wife, at every opportunity Meena Kumari challenges Rajendra Kumar to do his full justice while treating Raj Kumar, and not to show any vengeance for not marrying him by being under treatment or by being incorrectly treated.
The moral of the story is in India women once married, many of them remain devoted to their husbands in all spheres of life. Rajendra Kumar tries his level best by reading as many medical books and journals and succeeds in saving the life of Raj Kumar – but he becomes so tired due to exhaustion that he loses his life.
New movies basing these old hits can help in shaping the minds of the youth for the better; also producers can be assured of getting a good return on their investment.
