ENGLAND DEFEATED Pakistan by 9 wickets in the second Cricket test match at Edgbaston, Birmingham on the fourth day of the play and took a 2-0 lead in the ongoing series. England Right-arm off break bowler Graeme Swann was declared the Man of the match for his career best bowling performance of 6/65. Earlier on day 4 the visitors started their innings from 291/9. Pakistani team added 5 more runs in 1.5 overs before English team wrapped up their inning for 296 runs. England completed the required runs to win the second Cricket Test against Pakistan in 36.3 overs. Hosts lost their only wicket as Alastair Cook. He was bowled for 4 runs off the bowling of Mohammad Amir. Captain Andrew Strauss and Jonathan Trott scored 117 runs in partnership. Both the players completed their half centuries. Earlier, after winning the toss and elected to bat first, Pakistan were all out for 73 runs in their first inning. England pace battery Anderson, Bond and Finn shared 4, 4 and 2 wickets respectively. For the Pakistan side Umar Amin was the highest scorer, who scored 23 runs. In reply England scored 251 runs. Kevin Pietersen scored 80 runs, whereas, Jonathan Trott scored 55. Saeed Ajmal claimed 5 wickets for 82 runs. Third Cricket Test match between Pakistan and England will be played at The Oval from 18 August.
