INDIA'S SAURAV Ghoshal lost his semi-final competition against Mohammad Azlan Iskandar of Malaysia to grab a bronze medal in the men's singles squash competition at the Asian Games today.
Earlier during the day India defeated traditional rivals Pakistan 3-2 in a men's hockey group B match at the Asian Games in Guangzhou on Saturday, while a silver in golf and a bronze in snooker took the country's tally to 24 after eighth day of the competition.
India’s status as far as the games is concerned goes as follows:
A total of 24 medals with 2 gold, 10 silver and 12 bronze medals. In this 13 have been won by men players and a whopping 11 by women players.
China, as usual, is leading with a total of 262 medals in which 134 are gold. China is followed by Korea, Japan, Iran, Thailand at the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th position respectively.
India is doing pretty well at these Asian games. Though still far from the ambitious slot of top 5, we might just make it into the top 10 this time.
The competition is tougher and pressure a lot more, considering all that, top 10 doesn’t seem too bad, lets cheer or players to be able to achieve that.
